![]() "The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler, rather than to their country as did the Wehrmacht soldiers." also works, although it's slightly more ambiguous than my preferred sentence.Īn altogether less ambiguous way would be "In contrast to/Unlike the Wehrmacht soldiers, who swore an oath to their country, the Waffen-SS swore an oath to Hitler." On reflection, the second comma, is indeed the biggest problem, as "The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler, rather than to their country as the Wehrmacht soldiers did." If we assume that the Wehrmacht soldiers swore an oath to the country, and the Waffen-SS swore an oath to Hitler then it should be written as follows: I agree with dunescratcheur that there is also a problem with the second comma, indeed this was my first thought before realizing that "did" was also in the wrong place. The meaning is slightly different with "as + verb + subject". I think this is partly because with "as + subject + verb" "as" indicates "in the same way as". This means ""The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler, rather than to their country, which is what the Wehrmacht soldiers did." ![]() "The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler, rather than to their country, as the Wehrmacht soldiers did." This means "The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler rather than to their country, and so did the Wehrmacht soldiers." "The Waffen-SS soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler, rather than to their country, as did the Wehrmacht soldiers." I will try to explain how I understand each construction: Looking for rules in English language often leads to disappointment, and I'm not sure I can give you one here.

While a spiral ham’s larger size means it’s an impressive main dish, it may also lead to leftovers. Remember, the ham is done when the internal temperature reaches 140✯. To prevent an overcooked ham, it’s a good idea to start checking the internal temperature sooner rather than later. That means if you’re cooking a nine-pound ham, you can expect it to take anywhere from 90 to 144 minutes. In general, you’ll want to plan for 10-16 minutes per pound. Total cook time will depend on the size of the ham, your cooking method, and the cooking temperature. If you’re starting with a pre-cooked ham, you’ll only need to cook your ham long enough to heat it all the way through. They also tend to be slightly larger than boneless versions. However, bone-in versions are more common.īone-in spiral hams tend to be a bit more flavorful, due to the extra flavor the bone imparts. Similar to other cuts of meat, spiral hams come in both bone-in and boneless versions. No matter if you leave your ham unaltered or add extra flavor, you’ll want to let it cook for four to six hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145º. ![]() If you’d like, you can also coat the ham with sugar and spices or cover it with a marinade. Set your crockpot to low and place the ham at the bottom. If you don’t have space in the oven or want to try out a new method, you can also cook your spiral ham in a slow cooker. Leave uncovered and return to the oven until the interior of the ham reaches 140º. Coleman Natural’s bone-in spiral hams come with a glaze packet, so you can skip the work involved with finding a recipe and whipping up a glaze. However, you can expect an average-sized ham to take 1.5 to 2.5 hours.Ībout 15 minutes before you expect your ham to be done, remove it from the oven and brush the outside with a glaze. Total cook time will depend on both the size of the ham as well as the oven temperature. Next, place the pan on a rack centered in the middle of the oven.īake your ham until the internal temperature reaches 140✯ at the thickest part. Next, place the ham on top of the rack and then cover the pan with aluminum foil to help seal in moisture. ![]() However, be aware that lower temperatures will lead to longer cooking times, so you may want to opt for the higher temperatures if your company will be arriving an hour earlier than you anticipated.Īs your oven is preheating, place a baking rack inside a shallow roasting pan. That said, there isn’t one perfect temperature to set your oven at – anywhere in the range of 250✯ to 350✯ will work. That means you’ll want to opt for low and slow cooking rather than high and fast heat. Since the ham is already cooked, your goal is to thoroughly heat it without drying it out. Change the water every 30 minutes, and plan for 30 minutes per pound of ham. If you’re in a rush, you can speed up the defrosting process by submerging your sealed ham in cold water. However, you’ll need to plan ahead, since each pound of ham will take 4 to 6 hours to thaw. If your ham is frozen, it’s best to allow it to slowly thaw in the refrigerator. No matter which method you choose, remember to remove your ham from the refrigerator about one hour before cooking. While the oven is the most traditional (and most popular) method, you can also heat your ham in a slow cooker. The first step to heating your spiral ham is to choose your cooking method. ![]() ^ "Bad Girls" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number 36 on the US Pop Top 40.^ "Bad Girls" did not enter the Canadian Hot 100, but peaked at number 45 on the Canadian Digital Chart.^ "American Dream" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number 33 on the US Pop Top 40.^ "Thank You" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number 38 on the US Pop Top 40."-" denotes a single that did not chart or was not released. ![]() It offers a wide selection of advanced formulas, like conditional formatting, IF function, macro, etc.Įxcel online has several functions missing that you’d typically find in the desktop version. It might not appeal to everyone, but I still think everyone should give it a try. Once again, this is the perfect dlc for someone like me who has played and thoroughly enjoyed all of the Treyarch zombies maps. If you were a fan of the Black Ops 3 maps, however, i would still recommend the dlc as you still get a map like Origins which was the building block for most of the Black Ops 3 zombies maps, and in my opinion, Origins is still the best zombies map ever made. If you have only played the Black Ops 3 maps and maybe aren't really a big fan of long, tedious tasks and just want to kill some zombies, you should buy this dlc. If you are a hardcore fan of zombies like I am, well, you probably bought the dlc already. I would recommend Kino Der Toten as a map to practice honing in basic zombies skills like maximizing points, training, perks, and just becoming better at the game. Even if you still aren't that skilled yet, most of the maps are simple enough where you can just open some doors, grab a gun and kill zombies. If you are more of a moderate player and have played some maps multiple times and really enjoy the gameplay, or just want to experience why many people love the zombies mode, you should get this dlc. It may take a little time to really get into it, but once you do, you will be satisfied to be apart of the zombies community. If you weren't a big fan try some different maps, but it still might not be for you. You should play them for at least a couple hours solo and with some friends to get an idea of what zombies is all about. As $30 is a somewhat steep price for some people, try to borrow black ops 1/world at war from a friend or rent it as the maps from those games make up 7/8 of the maps in the dlc. If you are a casual zombies player who has maybe played a couple maps here and there, or never played one at all, you should probably wait to buy this dlc. If you are thinking about buying this dlc, you need to know which group you belong to so you can make the best decision. From the simplest map Nacht Der Untoten to the fan favorite Kino Der Toten to the complex, yet rewarding map Origins. There is enough variety in the 8 maps to appeal to all players. ![]() Now it's less than $4 a map! Although some maps aren't some people's favorites, they all bring back the nostalgia of the old days while bringing in some new flavor with gobblegums and Black Ops 3's other mechanics. At $30 for 8 fantastic zombies maps, this is a steal as in the past, it was $15 per map. As someone deeply in love with the Call of Duty Zombies mode, and with almost 400 hours across all of the zombies maps in all of the games, this is the perfect dlc pack. |
